Everest is fearsome from Base Camp. Chomolungma is the Tibetan name for the mountain, the Chinese spell it Qomolangma - Jamie

The climb to North Col (Camp 1, also called camp 4) - Jamie

Near the summit. Shishapangma is in the distance, slightly left of Cho Oyu 8201m, the white flat-topped peak (normally climbed from the other side).
In the centre with the big face is Gyachung Kang, the 15th highest mountain, just below the magic 8000m mark.
