Kathmandu sightsThanks Wanda and Sheila! Here are their pictures taken while walking around and sightseeing around Kathmandu.
The Tika mafia. It is likely that you will be accosted by these priests who give you a tika blessing in exchange for a few rupees. 20Rs from a tourist is more than adequate, but they will ask for more.
Baudha or Bodhinath, the largest stupa in Asia and wonderful place to soak up the Tibetan atmosphere, especially in the early mornings and evenings. It is in Kathmandu.
Pashiputinath is the most holy temple in Kathmandu for Hindus. It is on the banks of the Bagmati river and is where many people are cremated, including the King and his family.

The streets of Kathmandu are a teeming chaos filled with tiny shops who have lots of staff.
Sheila at the Kumari's house in Durbar Square, Kathmandu
Wanda and friends at Durbar Square, Bhaktapur. Each of the historical city-states has a wonderful square of temples. |
